Therapy, ReEnvisioned

Kristi Moser and her therapy dog, Oakley

Hi! I'm Kristi!

Welcome to New Vision Counseling! Here we hope to help all of our clients find and achieve new outlooks on life through guided counseling. But before we dive into therapy, let me introduce myself. I live in the country with my husband, who farms, and my two beautiful children. I enjoy gardening (actually, I enjoy pulling weeds the most), cheering on my kids in their sports and activities, as well as being a mom to our Goldendoodle, Oakley. The outdoors and the simple things are where I find most of my happiness in life. I love driving my 1956 “Little Blue truck” on country highways on sunny afternoons, and I also enjoy spending family time at the lake, four-wheeling, going to concerts, reading and watching movies.

As your therapist, it is my goal to make you, as a client, feel seen and heard. In fact, connectedness is my number one Gallup strength; I give it my utmost effort to ensure that I relate to my clients in my therapeutic practice. I have 20 years of experience working with adolescents in education as a teacher and a school counselor, and subsequently specialize in treating adolescents and young adults. While working to support students, I have also provided them with stress management skills, effective tools, positive feedback and support, resources and practical strategies to maneuver life’s difficulties. I have supported students experiencing the following: depression, anxiety/panic disorders, trauma, grief, gender/sexuality issues, self-esteem issues, life transitions, suicidal ideations/self-harm, relationship issues, and difficulties leading to school avoidance.

What Can I Expect?

Starting counseling with a new therapist can be frightening, so let me give you a rundown of what you can look forward to when you come to your first appointment! We strive to provide a comforting, welcome atmosphere with a nonjudgmental approach while maintaining your trust and confidentiality. I have been a part of small communities for 20 years, and will maintain client privacy, even within those small communities.

My approach centers around being warm, nonjudgmental, and accepting. I want my clients to feel heard and validated; all the while creating a safe space to work through whatever is troubling them. I meet people where they are and work with them to build upon their own strengths to find relief in the areas troubling their lives. I hope to help my clients accomplish a sense of balance in their lives by providing them the tools to manage any problem areas and achieve overall wellness.

Therapies include: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which focuses on the current realities, problem-solving to cope with difficult situations, and helping the client develop greater self-confidence; Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), incorporating mindfulness and assisting clients with emotion regulation; and Solution-Focused, setting goals and finding the path to reach them while focusing on what the client wants to.
